Los Angeles, California – September, 29 2005 – Rocstor, a leading provider of fast, high-capacity data storage solutions, is announcing its line of “Rocsafe” 2.5” internal hard drives for laptop computers. Engineered to replace a laptop’s current hard drive, Rocsafe is a secure storage device that consists of a 1.8” hard disk drive with a hardware based encryption module which encrypts every byte and every sector of data that is written into the hard disk. Rocsafe is operating system independent and does not require any software drivers making it the most secure hard drive available in the USA today.
For an additional measure of data security, Rocsafe also encrypts all temporary files, as well as areas that would normally be missed and left in “clear” by software encryption products. Encryption and decryption occurs transparently without any loss in disk performance. Users simply use their notebooks as usual with the assurance and complete peace of mind that their data is fully protected in the unfortunate event that their notebooks are stolen or lost.
Rocsafe can be configured for data security using two different modes – Single-Factor Authentication: is the mode in which the user is authenticated with the password that he/she had earlier specified. Two – Factor Authentication: In this mode the user is required to connect the USB token key (Keycrypt® enclosed) into the notebook and present the password for authentication. Token mode enforces a higher security level by e nsuring that the user possesses both the physical token (Keycrypt®) and the knowledge of its PIN (password.)
“Rocsafe is specially engineered for those who need security and peace of mind while carrying important data in their notebook computer. Those users include business executives, lawyers, accountants, doctors, government officials … or any person who carries sensitive information or secret data or information in their notebook computers,” said G. Asher – Director of Business Development of Rocsecure.
